PRIO has a new CEO and changes in the Board of Directors
PRIO, the largest independent oil and gas company in the country, announces a new composition of the Board of Directors, which will now include members with a strong background in management and capital markets, and will have Nelson Queiroz Tanure as president.
With the change, the company’s CEO will be Roberto Monteiro, who will also accumulate his previous role, that of CFO, during this transition phase.
“The change in the Board is important for an even stronger and more transparent Corporate Governance, in order to ensure the highest levels of demand in relation to the Company’s management,” highlights Queiroz Tanure, who will have a stronger role in strategic issues in order to maintain the long-term growth of the company.
The four new independent directors are:
Márcia Raquel Cordeiro de Azevedo (partner at Falconi Consultores de Resultado);
Felipe Bueno da Silva (partner and executive at BX Capital);
Gustavo Rocha Gattass (ex BTG Pactual);
Felipe Villela Dias (Visagio partner).
The other three are Nelson de Queiroz Tanure, who assumes the presidency of the collegiate, Roberto Monteiro, and Emiliano Fernandes Lourenço Gomes (legal director).
Replaced were William Connell Steers, Pedro Grossi and Helio Costa, who had served as Board members since March 2014 and submitted their resignations on April 20.
PRIO’s new CEO
Nelson Queiroz Tanure joined the company in 2014, when he actively participated in the Company’s restructuring. Since May 2018, he served as the CEO of PRIO.
Previously, he worked at Docas Investimentos, where he led acquisitions, turnarounds, and mergers and acquisitions of companies in the telecommunications, infrastructure, and financial market sectors.
He has a degree in Economics from Boston College/ IBMEC.
Roberto has been with the company since its foundation, having held the position of Chief Operating Officer, as well as Chief Financial Officer and Chief New Business Officer, currently combined with that of Chief Executive Officer.
Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer and Investor Relations Officer at OGX Petróleo e Gás. He also served as CFO and Investor Relations Officer at OSX, which operates in the shipping and offshore industry.
He has held several positions at América Latina Logística – ALL, among them Operations Director and Executive Director – Argentina.

He will certainly be very successful in this new function and we will have a very productive and challenging journey”, says Nelson Tanure.
Roberto comes to the presidency to strengthen the Company’s management and continue the work in progress.
