PetroRio, Brazil’s largest independent oil and gas company and a specialist in recovering mature fields, is now called PRIO. The redesign of the new brand came from the company’s acronym in the B3 index of the Stock Exchange, where the company trades its shares since 2020, and was already used as a nickname both by its employees and by financial market analysts and operators.
The new brand was developed by the Plau studio in conjunction with the Rastro agency and the company’s communication area. The initiative also includes the development of a new font, PRIO Sans, where technology and seriousness meet the curves and beauty of Rio de Janeiro, the company’s headquarters. The work launches a new positioning placing more emphasis on PRIO’s culture and management model.
According to Nelson Queiroz Tanure, Chairman of the Board of Directors of PRIO, the new brand reflects the company’s values, “the company came about because of a dream, it is made of dreams and of the people who are here. We have always overcome all challenges, this is our DNA, and the new brand expresses this way of being”.
