PRIO continues to stand out at ROG.e 2024 and was present today at the Arena Young Summit, on the panel: ‘Is there still room for young talent in the Oil and Gas industry?’. The debate was attended by Flavio Canto, athlete and founder of Instituto Reacao, also an Advisor and Member of PRIO Sustainability Committee, and Élida Gurgel, People and Performance Manager of PRIO, who discussed the opportunities and challenges for the insertion of young talent in the oil and gas industry together with representatives from Baker Hughes and Petrobras.

Both emphasized the fundamental role of innovation and sustainability in attracting new professionals to the industry, in addition to highlighting PRIO’s efforts to foster actions that bring young people closer to promising careers. Élida Gurgel commented that, despite belonging to a century-old industry, the oil and gas market is driven by constant learning and technological advancement and, thus, PRIO and the young person who is open to new ideas and methodologies, with a great desire to learn, have a cultural fit that strengthens the continuous development of both.

Flavio Canto highlighted the importance of social initiatives in this context, mentioning the success of the Reacao Offshore project, one of the actions supported by the I ♥ PRIO platform. “The goal of Instituto Reacao has always been to be a school of integration, much more than a school of struggle. Moreover, Reacao Offshore, together with PRIO, was the first more “sophisticated” project in relation to training for employment journeys that we carried out. We are already in the third edition of the project and currently over 300 people have been trained, of which around a third are working at PRIO offshore bases. Furthermore, many young people find jobs even in other companies, as they are being prepared for the market as a whole – this has been a prerogative of PRIO since the beginning of this partnership – being an example of how it is possible to integrate social inclusion and professional development in highly technical industries,” said the former judoka and Olympic medalist.

In addition to his participation in the panel, Flavio was also present at PRIO’s mega booth, located on the 2nd floor of the Main Pavilion, where he shared further details on the success story of Instituto Reacao, which aims to train young people to face the challenges of the job market and life through sport and education. Other lectures held at the venue included sponsorships and social projects, construction of tiebacks and innovation with technical water shutoff work. In front of the PRIO booth, a cultural intervention was also carried out, with live painting of one of the most important symbols of the offshore environment, the drill.

This Wednesday (25), the program continues with CEO Roberto Monteiro on the Strategic Talks stage at 3:50 pm, sharing the company’s vision on business, market and the future of the industry. To access PRIO’s full schedule at ROG.e 2024, click here.
