Reação Offshore carries out a socio-emotional class with the participation of Paralympic champion Clodoaldo Silva
Last Saturday (30th), the Reação Offshore program, a PRIO initiative in partnership with Todos na Luta, Instituto Reação and Firjan/Senai, aimed at training workers for the oil and gas industry, held a special class focused on developing socio-emotional skills. Held at Maria Lenk Park in Rio de Janeiro, the class was attended by Paralympic champion Clodoaldo Silva, one of Brazil’s greatest athletes. The former swimmer shared his experience of overcoming challenges and took part in a water dynamic on floating with the 70 students.
The initiative favors not only the progress of the industry, but also the integration of skilled labor into the market. Of the 300 graduates since 2022, PRIO has already hired almost a third of these professionals.
Increasingly valued in the job market, socio-emotional and behavioral skills are fundamental for offshore work, due to the specific characteristics of this environment. The isolation, intense coexistence, departing from family and risks inherent in the profession require a set of well-developed socio-emotional skills to ensure the well-being, safety and productivity of teams.
“The lack of said skills can lead to interpersonal conflicts, low productivity, occupational accidents and mental health problems. Investing in the development of these skills is essential for the success of offshore operations and the well-being of the professionals involved,” says Luiza Martin, PRIO’s Recruitment and Talent Management Coordinator.
