PRIO supports the first Fishing Festival at Quinta da Boa Vista

Marine project fair will be open to the public and has sustainability and ocean preservation as its main topic

On September 20th and 21st, Quinta da Boa Vista will host the Fishing Festival, a fair of sea projects, Rio de Janeiro edition, a free and unprecedented event that brings together science, culture, environmental education, and gastronomy in a light and fun format for the whole family. The programming takes place from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM and will include discussion circles, workshops, interactive exhibitions, and culinary experiences. PRIO, the largest independent oil and gas company in Brazil, is a sponsor of the festival, reinforcing its commitment to ocean preservation, valuing fishing culture, and promoting sustainable practices.

About the Festival

Inspired by the style of local markets, the event will feature exclusive food stalls, with tastings of treats made from fish from the State of Rio de Janeiro, as well as crafts, exhibitions, games, and educational activities.

Among the highlights of the schedule are: prototypes of franciscana dolphins (toninha) and interactive games about marine fauna. shark jaw used as a “clown’s mouth” game and scale model exhibitions. craft and sewing workshops for marine animals; presentations of scientific and socio-environmental projects, such as those from APA Guapi-Mirim, MONA Cagarras, ALMARJ/COOPEMARJ, Association of Women in Fishing, and APPREILI, which will showcase solutions and products related to environmental conservation, mariculture, and socio-biodiversity, among many others.

In addition to the Rio de Janeiro edition, other dates for the Festival are already confirmed for October 18th and 19th in Região dos Lagos (Lakes Region), and November 29th and 30th in Costa Verde (Green Coast).
