ROG.e 2024: Chief Operating Officer highlights the impact of independent companies in diversifying extraction and production activities
PRIO participated this Monday (23rd) in the ROG.e 2024 Dialogues panel, debating the role of independent oil companies in diversifying Exploration and Production (E&P) activities. With the presence of Francilmar Fernandes, PRIO’s Chief Operating Officer, the conversation brought to light the relevance of independent companies in the development of the energy industry, bringing innovation and flexibility to the market, besides complementing the activities of large companies, increasing competitiveness and encouraging the adoption of more agile and efficient practices, both in the exploration of new fields and in the implementation of technologies that optimize production processes.
During the panel, Francilmar highlighted PRIO’s trajectory, which, with a team of around 1,000 employees, reached a daily production of 100,000 barrels in 2023. “Maximizing the recovery factor of a field that has already been developed demands focus. Operating a mature field is like riding a bicycle, we can’t stop pedaling. To this end, we rely on several partners and want to contribute to continue developing the market and bringing important impacts on job creation, royalties, economic development, process and technology development and even social investment,” said the Chief Operating Officer.
Francilmar also highlighted PRIO’s role in extending the useful life of mature wells: “We have managed to extend the operation of our assets by more than 65 years to date, and this is just the beginning. We are proud to see the market progress,” he added.
In addition to the presence of executives on several panels throughout ROG.e 2024, PRIO has a booth located on the 2nd floor of the Main Pavilion, where it carries out a series of activities, including an arena with several lectures throughout the day on topics that go beyond oil and gas. The space also welcomes partners from initiatives sponsored by the I🖤PRIO platform, like former beach volleyball player and two-time Olympic medalist Adriana Samuel, who presented the Sem Barreiras project this Monday, which fosters social inclusion through sport.
In the technical studies schedule, the highlight of the day was the presentation on the application of water shutoff technology aimed at increasing efficiency in mature fields.
