Web series portrays the routine of professionals on oil rigs
PRIO has announced the launch of the fourth season of its Offshore Stories web series on November 18. The content shows the routine of professionals who work in the Albacora East field, both on board the FPSO Forte platform ship and in their lives on land – when they return from periods of 15 days or more at sea.
With new episodes available twice a week on PRIO’s YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, the series promises to offer an intimate and realistic view of the daily lives of these employees, including living with family members and adapting to the routine.
The videos tell the stories of John Martinez, who left his country, Peru, and a career in a German company to work at PRIO in Brazil, and Carlos Leite, a former mechanic who found the chance to work with his true passion in the offshore sector. In addition to the moving testimonies, the season stands out for showing the lives of professionals at home after long periods at sea, addressing the connection with their families and the impact of their profession on their personal lives.
“The web series emphasizes the professionalism and dedication of professionals who work daily in an offshore routine and help building the history of the company and its operations. It talks about people, results and daily non-conformity and daring. We’re proud to be able to showcase their careers to all audiences,” says Olivia Richardson, Head of Communications and Marketing at PRIO.
Following safety regulations, the recording team embarked on the FPSO Forte in the Albacora Leste field, in the Campos Basin, 120km from the coast, to collect the testimonies, and visited the homes of some of the employees who took part in the series. The field acquired by PRIO in 2023 has a FPSO with almost 200 people on board and produces around 30,000 barrels per day.
